Terms of Service

The service — what DomainMagic actually does

In plain language, so nothing is hidden:

• Building: you give us a domain name and optional instructions; AI models plan a business concept, write the copy, design artwork, and generate the website code.
• Redesigning: if the domain already hosts a website, we fetch its publicly accessible pages once, over normal HTTP — exactly what any web browser or search engine sees. From those pages we read the text, headings, links, social profiles, contact details, and publicly served images, and use them to rebuild the site faithfully. We never access servers, accounts, passwords, or anything non-public.
• Third-party AI: your inputs (domain, instructions, and for redesigns the fetched public content) are sent to the AI providers that power generation — currently xAI (Grok), OpenAI (GPT), and Anthropic (Claude) — to produce your site.
• Hosting previews: finished sites are hosted at domainmagic.com/preview/ as shareable previews. Previews are excluded from search engines (noindex) so they never compete with a real website. Earlier versions of your builds are kept at their own preview links so nothing you make is lost.
• AI editor & remixes: when you request changes, the AI edits your site's actual code and republishes the preview.
• Downloads: every build is packaged as a code zip you can take anywhere. It's yours.
• Payments & email: payments are processed by Stripe (we never see card numbers); transactional email is sent via our email provider. Details in the privacy policy.

Output is generated by AI and provided as-is: review it before using it commercially, and don't rely on it for legal, medical, or financial accuracy.

Your content and ownership

You own the websites DomainMagic generates for you — the downloaded code package is yours to host, modify, and use anywhere. You're responsible for the domains and instructions you submit, and you confirm you have the right to use any domain or existing website content you point the service at.

Credits and payments

Builds consume credits. Purchased credits don't expire; membership credits refresh monthly and don't roll over. Payments are processed by Stripe — we never see or store your card number. Prices are shown in USD before every purchase, and digital credits are delivered to your account instantly on payment.

Refunds & cancellations

• Failed builds: automatically refunded in credits, every time — you never pay for a build that didn't finish.
• Unused credit packs: refundable on request within 14 days of purchase, minus any credits already spent. Email magic@domainmagic.com from your account email.
• Spent credits: non-refundable — AI generation costs are incurred the moment a build runs, and your delivered website (preview + downloadable code) is the fulfilled product.
• Memberships: recur monthly at the price shown until cancelled. Cancel anytime from your dashboard's billing page — access and monthly credits remain until the end of the paid period; no prorated refunds for partial months.
• Problems? Contact us before disputing a charge — we resolve billing issues quickly, usually within one business day.

Fair use

One free-credit grant per person. Don't use the service to generate unlawful, infringing, or deceptive content, to misrepresent another business, or to abuse the redesign feature against sites you have no rights to. We may suspend accounts that violate these terms.

Redesigns of existing websites

The redesign feature reads only publicly accessible pages of the website you point it at — the same pages any web browser or search engine can view — and does so once, at your request. By using it, you represent that you own that website or have the owner's permission to redesign it. The rebuilt site contains content (text, images, links) derived from the original; using that output for a site you have no rights to may infringe the owner's copyright or trademarks, and that responsibility is yours alone. Redesign previews are private (hidden from search engines) until you choose to publish the code yourself.

Content complaints & takedowns (DMCA)

If you believe a preview hosted on domainmagic.com reproduces your copyrighted content without permission, email magic@domainmagic.com with the preview URL, your website, and a description of the content. We remove infringing previews promptly and may terminate repeat infringers' accounts.

Your preview page, privacy, and search engines

When we build a site for you it lives at a preview address like domainmagic.com/preview/yourdomain.com/. Two things are true about that page, and it is worth being precise about both.

It is public if someone has the link. The preview is not password protected. Anyone you send the URL to can open it, and generated sites appear in our public gallery by default. If you would rather it not be listed or reachable, delete the site from your dashboard at any time — that removes it from the gallery and takes the page down.

It is hidden from Google. Every preview page is served with a noindex instruction (an X-Robots-Tag: noindex header). That tells search engines: you may look at this page, but do not put it in your search results.

What "noindex" actually means

It means the page will not show up in Google, Bing or any other search engine's results. This matters most if you already have a real website on that domain: your preview cannot compete with your own site in search, cannot split your rankings, and cannot be mistaken by Google for a duplicate of your real pages. It is there for you to look at and share directly, not to be found by strangers searching.

People sometimes confuse this with "nofollow", which is a different thing entirely. Nofollow is a note attached to an individual link, telling search engines not to pass ranking credit through it. Noindex applies to a whole page and keeps that page out of search results altogether. Your preview uses noindex.

One deliberate exception: we do allow social platforms — X, Facebook, LinkedIn, Slack, Discord, WhatsApp, Telegram — to read the page, so that when you share the link it unfurls with a proper image and title instead of a bare URL. Those crawlers only build the link preview card; they do not put the page into search results.

Exactly what is blocked from crawling — a plain confirmation

So there is no ambiguity, here is precisely what search engines are told, by URL path, on domainmagic.com:

• Every preview build — anything under domainmagic.com/preview/ — is both disallowed in robots.txt and served with X-Robots-Tag: noindex. That is belt-and-suspenders: search engines are told not to crawl it and not to index it. This covers your generated site, its pages, and its images.
• Your account pages — /dashboard.html and /admin.html — are disallowed in robots.txt.
• All data endpoints — everything under /api/ — are disallowed in robots.txt (these are not pages).
• What is allowed to be indexed: only the public domainmagic.com pages themselves — the homepage, the marketplace /buy/ sale listings, and similar. Your private build is not among them.

The single deliberate exception, described above, is that named social-card crawlers (X, Facebook, LinkedIn, Slack, Discord, WhatsApp, Telegram) are permitted to read a preview so a shared link unfurls with an image — they build the link card only and never place the page in search results. If you want zero access of any kind, delete the build from your dashboard and the page is taken down entirely.

When you connect your own domain (A-record / DNS) and go live

The noindex restriction is attached to the preview address on our servers (domainmagic.com/preview/…), not to the build itself. When you point your domain's A record (or other DNS) at the live build and the site goes live on your own domain, that live site is served at your domain's own address — for example https://yourdomain.com/ — with no noindex and no crawl block. From that moment it is indexed normally by Google and every other search engine, exactly like any other website. The preview restriction does not follow it onto your domain.

To be complete about the two-address situation this creates: after you go live, the same build effectively exists at two URLs — your live domain (indexable) and the original domainmagic.com/preview/… copy (which remains noindex). This is intentional and is the correct outcome: it means the preview copy on our servers can never compete with, duplicate, or dilute the search ranking of your live site. Google sees and ranks your domain; the preview copy stays invisible to search.

The marketplace — listing and selling domains

DomainMagic runs a marketplace where you can offer a domain you own for sale, together with the website built on it. In plain language (and see the marketplace FAQ for how it works day to day):

• We are a venue, not a party to the sale. Any contract of sale is between the buyer and the seller. We do not own, warrant, appraise, or guarantee any listed domain, and we are not your agent or broker in a legal sense.
• You must control the domain to list it. Listing requires proving control by pointing DNS at the build. Listing a domain you do not own or control is a breach of these terms and the listing will be removed.
• Listing seats depend on your plan. Current seat counts are shown on the pricing page and are enforced when you list.
• We never take custody of your sale proceeds. Payment for a domain is settled directly between buyer and seller, normally through an escrow provider of their choosing. Our card processor handles DomainMagic subscriptions and credits only, and is not used for domain sale payments.
• Commission. Any commission we charge on a completed sale is stated on the pricing page at the time of listing. Escrow and transfer fees are charged separately by the escrow provider or registrar.
• You can withdraw a listing at any time, except where you have already accepted an offer or entered a lease agreement.

The Broker Agent

Listings include an AI Broker Agent that answers buyer questions and relays offers. What it does and does not do:

• Your floor price is never disclosed. It is not placed in any AI prompt. The server compares offers against it; the agent is only told whether an offer clears the bar.
• It cannot sell your domain. It has no authority to accept an offer or bind you to a sale. Every offer comes to you to accept or refuse.
• You see every word. Full transcripts of buyer conversations are available to you, and you can take over a conversation at any point.
• It is software and it can be wrong. Statements it makes about a domain or site are generated automatically and are not warranties by us or by you. Check anything that matters before relying on it.

Offers and buyer contact

Offers require a working email address and a stated amount. We apply automated checks — including whether the email domain can receive mail — to filter out bot and throwaway submissions before they reach a seller. These checks are best-effort: we cannot guarantee every offer is genuine, and you should exercise normal judgement, particularly before transferring anything of value.

Beware fake escrow sites. The most common fraud in domain sales is a counterparty insisting on an unfamiliar escrow website. Verify any escrow provider independently rather than trusting a link you were sent.

Lease-to-own

Where a seller offers a domain on instalment terms, the following apply:

• DomainMagic does not hold domains in escrow. Each lease listing states who holds the domain during the payment term — normally an escrow agent. Where custody remains with the seller, the buyer carries the risk that the domain is not transferred, and both parties should agree terms in writing before the first payment.
• We do not process instalment payments and do not guarantee that either party performs.
• Missed payments and default are governed by whatever the buyer and seller agreed at the outset, not by us.

We provide the listing, the negotiation tools and the record of what was agreed. We are not a party to the lease.

Liability

The service is provided without warranties. To the maximum extent permitted by law, DomainMagic's total liability is limited to the amount you paid in the previous 3 months.
